ABOUT

Vlad Pocol is a Swiss multidisciplinary contemporary artist living and working between Paris, France, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His practice explores transformation through the interwoven lenses of movement, displacement, and emotional metamorphosis, examining how geographical and affective shifts shape processes of becoming. Marked by a multilayered heritage that includes Romanian political exile, Levantine ancestry, and a Swiss upbringing, Vlad Pocol inhabits a state of in-betweenness that forms the conceptual foundation of his work. Moving between Europe and the Middle East, he cultivates a cross-cultural perspective attentive to both personal and collective dimensions of transformation. Before dedicating himself fully to his artistic practice in 2023, he worked as a lawyer and former judge in Switzerland, a background that continues to inform the clarity and intellectual rigor of his approach.

Recent presentations include a solo exhibition within the Curated at One program at One Za’abeel, Dubai (2025); the group exhibition with Loisir Gallery, Los Angeles, during Frieze Week (2025); and a group exhibition with Loisir Gallery, Los Angeles (2024). In 2024, Vlad Pocol presented his solo exhibition From Roots to Vision. A Migration. at Ahlam Gallery, Riyadh, supported by the Embassy of Switzerland. He was distinguished in two consecutive years (2024 and 2025) with the Certificate of Artistic Achievement from the Luxembourg Art Prize, awarded by the Pinacothèque Art Museum. His works are part of major private and institutional collections, including international foundations and royal families in the Middle East, and have been presented across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
